Mommy C's Sanctuary for Offbeat and Quirky Children's Literature
Welcome to Mommy C's sanctuary for offbeat and quirky children's literature. Come and enjoy this little garden, where I will be reviewing the books I love.The focus will be on, but not limited to, quirky titles by Canadian authors. To begin with, I will be taking a look at books in five different categories: "The Scoop on Poop"- a critique of potty training books (I have a two-year-old in training right now), "Happily Ever After?"- a look at contemporary fairytales, "Breaking Ground"- my praises for books that are moving society forward, "Diamonds from the Tundra"- a journey through the world of Inuit literature (my three little inspirations are 1/4 Inuvialuit), and finaly, "Stranger than Fiction" a review of quirky non-fiction books.
I garden in the wee hours (I am a mother of three). Please, be patient with my atrocious grammatical errors. I know, I wish I had an editor, too. But, this is a solo project.

- Mommy C
- I am Mommy C, a children's writer and mom. I am raising three little inspirations in North Eastern BC. We share a 1/4 section with 14 horses, 110 chickens and turkeys, three dogs, and five fish. I've been an infantry soldier, a rugby player, a survivalist, a pipeliner, and rode bucking horses. Now I wrangle children and scribble a little.

If I were in posession of the one piece of knowledge that could improve all of mankind, I would place it in a children's book. It would be read by the very young and remembered by the very old. It would be entertaining and non-didactic. It would be short, simple, and easy to understand. It would be light-hearted and humorous. And of course, it would be filled with brilliant illustrations.
